We went to Malacca twice recently, and both times Mr H decided to take the old route. That means no highway. It was fun, because you get to see nice views, even though Mr H did get angry at me because I often fell asleep, hahaha.

From my point of view, I think Pengkalan Balak is clean and is a very nice place to have family picnic. There are also few chalets right in front of the beach. Meaning that you will get sea view from your chalet.
