The main reason why people are avoiding law is because they could not understand the legal terms. I remember my late uncle, getting cross-examined in court, and he said, "Yes, I am the penalty" instead of "Yes, I am the plaintiff". :P

This became our (Mr H and me) reason then to start writing a legal series for the laymen. I had completed one title, Law of Contract Made Simple for Laymen. I think that this book came at a right time because I had been receiving messages lately from my previous students, asking how many elements are there in a contract. Grrrrr. They immediately forget what you taught them after they had attended their convocation day. Or maybe even before that, hahaha.

This book is mainly about the elements of contract but is written in a simple manner so that even the laymen who has no knowledge in law can understand them. There are many illustrations included to further explain certain things. I admit that it is not a comprehensive guide to the law of contract, but this book can help you to understand the basic elements of contract.

Trust me, the law of contract is one of the most important laws to deal with because you are involved with it everyday. When you buy something form the grocery shop, you are considered to be making a contract. When you find something in your plate of fried mee, while having dinner at the restaurant, something that should not be there in the first place, you are dealing with the law of contract. That is why it is very important for you to know the basic elements of a contract. So that you will know your rights and can defend yourself.

I would recommend this if you want to have a glimpse of the law but do not want to be caught in all the jargon words. This book is also highly recommended if you are a non-law students who has to study law as a subject.
